Bon Jour!

I just got back from a conference in Quebec City and I can say without a doubt, it is the most beautiful city I've ever been to.  The people were friendly, the food was great and I'm pretty sure my thighs have never had a better workout!  Lots of steep inclines, people.  LOTS.

I had to stay at this dump....what a hardship...

The Chateau Frontenac was everything I thought it would be.  My room was quite "bijoux" but our meetings were set up in one of  the larger suites.  Both were lovely, regardless of size.

Unfortunately, I forgot to take my camera (duh!) so I only have a handful of pictures I took on my phone.  I am a big Louise Penny fan so I made a point of going to the Literary & Historical Society that she used as the main setting for her book "Bury Your Dead".  Can't you just picture Armand and Henri here:

I was re-reading the book on my trip and it was great to put her words into a real life setting.  She did an amazing job describing the city.

I found something quilty in an antique store that I had to bring home with me.  I'll share pictures of it once I spend a little more time looking at it.

Off to do some sewing.  I'm surprised at how much I missed doing that while I was gone.

Have a great day!

  1. Hubby and I were in Quebec City two years ago, and I totally agree with you......it's fantastic! Beautiful, clean, friendly, yummy and a totally walkable city, so you don't miss a thing! We'll definitely go back! We rented a flat in the old section, but we wandered the halls of the grand hotel Frontenac.....gorgeous! We loved everything about that city.....and next time, we're going in winter for the festival! :o)
